This handsome fella was in town for the Cheyenne Kennel Club dog show & was spooked by other dogs when exiting his hotel room at Motel 6 on the morning of 9/2/2023. His owner took a hard fall during the interaction & he fled rapidly to the west. The other dog owner felt awful & tried to assist the owner all morning, they had no luck with sightings. Brenda went out as soon as we got the news to see if she could spot him. She spotted him just south of the hotel near the railroad tracks as he was being chased, these folks meant well and thought they were helping. She asked them to back off and continued to keep an eye on his locations while calling me. Man, Brenda sure did put in some steps throughout this journey! I went to meet Brenda to help & as soon as I pulled in to Romero Park, there he was. He was watching some kiddos play on the playground but wasn’t willing to come to me with calming signals & treats. He even laid down but the kids hanging around spooked him into tall grass. We were able to reach his owner & give her directions to get to us – she is not from our area. She got there and he came full sprinting to her and another Whippet she had with her. Welcome home handsome!
